First week in the field...

The branch I am in is full of sweet and loving people! i am still playing the piano, I also have a solo in sacrament meeting in two weeks! they dont mess around. me and peck have three new investigators who are just amazing people. there is one I am going to tell you about and I want you to keep her in your prayers. Tonight I am going to commit her to coming to church. well we go door to door, just because we know no one! and Its is way cold here like -9 during the day and -13 in the evening and -19 at night! yeah way fun, we are getting snow today! but anyways back to Erica Gutenheim (name has been changed)! She is an amazing lady! We got there and she told us to come in cuz it was cold! She has a tad bit of a scottish accent as does everyone in this area, i catch myself using it a tad bit some time too! Haha! But yeah we taught her the first lesson and I did most of the taking, elder peck wants me to get used to talking, little does she know i love to talk. Well when it got the the first vision, by the end of me quoting it the spirit was so strong that she had tears in her eyes i had tears in my eyes! I then asked her how she was feeling and she said " i dont know I never felt like this" I then let her know it was the spirit, then Elder Peck got to talking to her about the book of mormon. she is now reading 3 nephi 11 and the moroni challenge and we are meeting with her agian tonight. she is a smoker too but wants to stop. She has three huge cats! But just an amazing lady who has so much hunger for knowledge! This area is scottish area, On of my areas Kincardine is pure scottish and there is a bagpiper who plays at the sunset up at the light house at dawn! Kilts... I am getting one they look like fun! haha! I dont know the people here are strong in their beliefs in Hanover the town i live in it has the most churches per capita! Yeah and there are no two churches of the same faith! its crazy there are religions i have never known about! Jehovah Witnesses work really hard in this area, me and peck are often confused as JWs, which everyone here hates and has strong feelings for which gives us bad treatment. Its funny to see the feeling in peoples eyes ans they figure out we are not JWs! Our branch president lives like 50 min away in Port Elgin, another fun little town. Durham has a crazy member who is a truck driver, who just loves me because i am from texas he and his wife are having us over for dinner tomorrow! Our building is in a town just 10 ks away in walkerton! the branch mission leader who is feeding us lives south a bit in a town that I dont know how to spell! Anyways it is a wonderful place. From the Ice Sculptures in the town park or to the towns, which all of our downtowns in our areas look like downtown tomball and downtown spring! Haha! I love it out here but will love it better in the spring when it warms up a little bit Ay! Well look forward to hearing from you!

Mom, I love you so much! send this to everyone. Oh and hopefully you got me email about the "this is the place" oh and i left me scripture marker at home... yeah! I hope your classes are going well! cant wait to hear from you next week. i get internet every monday from 11- 12 so yeah! i love you!
